Using software for data synchronization
Like all important data, you should also back up projects regularly. This is not very difficult, as all data inserted into a project is stored in a main folder. See Structure and Content of a Project's Data Set for detailed information on this.
The easiest way to back up a project is to use Windows Explorer or another file management program to copy the entire main folder of a project, including all the sub folders and files it contains, to a backup medium. The project should be closed at this time.
Using software for data synchronization
For extensive projects, the time required for backups can be reduced considerably if you use special software for this purpose. This makes it possible to back up only those files that have been changed since the last backup. Free or low-cost products for this are, for example, Synctoy or Synchredible. With this variant, too, the project should be closed during the backup.
