Assignment of features to articles, files or references

Narrowing down search results by means of features

You can assign features to articles, files and references, which can be grouped into categories. Optionally, features of articles are displayed in the index and outline, e.g. to communicate the editing status of an article.

Definition of categories and features

For the administration of categories and features, i.e. the creation, modification and deletion, please read the article Features.

Assignment of features to articles, files or references

The assignment of one or more features takes place via the respective Context Pane of the article, reference or file.

Click on "Assign" and select from the pull-down menu e.g. the category "Progress" and below it the feature "In progress".

The assignment is then displayed.

It is also displayed below the respective content name, e.g.

If the view is set accordingly (cogwheel symbol), it is also displayed in the Outline and in the Index.

Narrowing down search results by means of features

The assignment of features allows you to mark content and thus indicate its current status, for example. However, features can also help to narrow down the search results in a full-text search.

In the following example, "lexican" was searched for and 4 search results were returned.

The filter on the right of the search results can be used to filter them by various characteristics. Among other things, you can define here that only search results are to be displayed to which certain features are assigned. In our example, there is the feature "Low" from the category "Priority". If we select this, the list of results becomes much smaller.
